I am developing this work as part of my diploma project in the Bachelor of Art Education programme at the Zurich University of the Arts. The starting point was that I was looking for conversations and thus a deeper understanding of the concept of home and, perhaps, the associated homesickness. In order to do justice to this individuality and to achieve research that is extensive and diverse, I developed the HEIMAT BOX. This box offers the flexibility to be set up at different locations in order to collect personal definitions from a wide variety of people. The personal definition is written and illustrated on two A6 cards, one for home and one for homesickness, and then placed in the HEIMAT BOX. The cards are sorted by location and stored. They will then be presented at the final exhibition at Zurich University of the Arts in January. In addition to this, the plan at the moment is to hold discussions that will result in a more in-depth excursion in addition to the quantitative collection through the Heimatbox.
